Guests, no account required

Making someone create an account before they can track a life total for one game is a good way to lose them. Guests join a table with a name and nothing else. If they decide afterwards that they want the history to stick around, they can convert to a full account.

For a one-off player

For a friend visiting for one evening, the guest flow is the whole onboarding: enter a name, join with the room code, play. That is the entire distance between wanting to play Commander and playing it.

Permaguests: real stats without an account

In a regular playgroup that same friend turns up every week and still never makes an account. The host can keep them on as a tracked "permaguest" between games. Permaguests accumulate stats exactly like a full member, and they are managed from table settings: promote, demote, or remove, with names kept unique per table.

What guests see

Guest devices get a "sign up to unlock" prompt on the stats board where full members see game history, the leaderboard, and rankings. It nudges guests toward signing up while leaving the game itself wide open.

Guests get the same app

A guest's device stays synced exactly like a member's, per real-time tracking, and stats and history covers what a permaguest's record actually tracks.
